Honeywell Sr Project Analyst in Kansas City, Missouri

Summary

The Project Analyst manages a wide variety of complex activities in support of project or program planning. Performs detailed analysis and interpretation of complex data from various business systems or external data sources. Assists in project planning, scheduling, monitoring, reporting activities, and special projects as assigned. May mentor lower-level analysts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, develops, and coordinates plans for assigned programs or projects. Develops and maintains project planning networks for complex projects.

  • Reports status of project plans and, if necessary, develops and presents recovery plans at customer or leadership review meetings.

  • Work on multiple projects concurrently, often with competing priority levels.

  • Assists in developing, implementing, and/or negotiating changes to project plans with internal and external customers to assure schedules are met.

  • Evaluates project status and potential issues and initiates appropriate customer contact with external customers and across FM&T to resolve issues.

  • Routinely uses business knowledge and FM&T systems to gather data required to manage project plans.

  • Acts as FM&T point-of-contact for internal and external customer projects as assigned.

  • Assists in the development of innovations in departmental systems and functions.

  • Conducts routine and special studies which involve compiling data, analyzing results, preparing and maintaining documentation, and proposing and implementing recommendations.

  • May compile, coordinate, monitor, and maintain financial and budgeting reports.

  • Provides assistance and coordinates with Project Analysts performing related duties.

  • Analyze data and perform trend analysis and communicate the data variances.

  • Utilizes discretion and analysis in developing, maintaining and facilitating project plans.

  • The analyst role provides program and project management coordination, contract management and overall execution of plans for complex, high-value products and projects.

  • This role conducts comprehensive analyses of project performance reviewing execution, logic, milestones, etc. and recommends interventions and corrective actions or solutions.

  • Analyzes labor trends and variances to forecasts and current funding levels to identify the need for and initiate baseline change requests, cost transfers, or contract amendments.

  • Prepares and delivers status communications, reports, and presentations to customers, suppliers, technical and administrative functions, and management stakeholders, at multiple levels, on a regular and frequent basis.

  • Actively participates in and contributes analytical resources to project team to develop, execute and maintain project plans that support project performance.

  • May mentor lower-level analysts.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

You Must Have

  • Bachelor degree preferred with 5 years of experience in a directly related field or 7+ years of directly related experience required in lieu of Bachelor degree

  • United States Citizenship

  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).

  • Two or more years of work experience directly analyzing complex technical data and information in the fields of engineering, scientific or manufacturing preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • Ability to identify and make recommendations for resolution of project related problems utilizing analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated oral and written communications skills; ability to effectively interface and build strong relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrated skills in organization and problem solving.

  • Detail oriented; possess professional presence, maturity and judgment
