RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, Family Planning, and general gynecology services.

• Collaborates with the OB-GYN and Family Practice Obstetrician per the Delineated Policy for Certified Nurse Midwife Practice.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, and speaking.

• Frequent: standing, walking, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions.

• Occasional: sitting, stooping/bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, lifting and carrying weight up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to maximum 50 pounds of force.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Exposure to body fluids, blood products, and communicable diseases.

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Recognition as an APRN with subspecialty as a certified Nurse Midwife by the Hawaii State Board of Nursing.

• Credentialing and privileging required.

• Current NRP certification.

• Current BLS certification.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• Two (2) years recent experience in a Nurse-Midwifery Clinical practice.
