We are currently seeking an exceptional customer service professional to join us as a QA Tech.
As the leading supply chain solutions business in the aerospace industry Customers are at the heart of our business. The QA Technician is responsible for Quality Assurance activities associated with receiving inspection, labeling, storing, and shipping chemicals at the distribution centers. This position is required to ensure all product arrives with required documentation, including test reports, process and raw material certifications, etc. in order to ensure compliance with customer specific requirements and trackability, thereby avoiding non-conformance to the end user.
Additionally, the QA Technician is responsible for inspecting and verifying that the quality assurance documents received are applicable, complete and accurate in relation to the product received, in accordance with department work instructions. If there are any conformance issues in paperwork received the Technician will be responsible for trouble shooting the situation in order to communicate appropriately to internal and external customers, and suppliers, and as seek a resolution for the appropriate required documentation.

About You:
- Perform quality assurance review through verifing the received materials and required certification package (i.e., Test Reports, Raw Materials Reports, Manufacturers Certification of Conformance, Process Certifications, Shelf Life, Storage Requirements, and evidence of part numbers and lot numbers) for part traceability and document accuracy in compliance with customer/product requirements
- Utilize inventory management and client quality systems/portals as an active company quality representative notating material information and/or discrepancies; document and segregate/placards as required
- Review and assign shelf life and storage conditions in the inventory management system based on product and customer specifications
- Release conforming material consistently (with the following information: lot/batch, expiration date, bin location, placards, and labels) for warehouse processing (stock put away, picking, shipping, etc.)
- Perform root cause analysis and communication actively with the procurement team and suppliers/vendors to resolve discrepancies for non-conforming materials as required
- Observe temperature recording devices on storage units, (i.e. freezers) and perform required actions and release appropriate communications when outliers/failures occur
- Provide backup support for processing hazardous materials through the shipping process including, but not limited to printing requires hazardous material certifications, labels, and transportation paperwork
- Ensure that all required reports and paperwork are submitted correctly and in a timely manner to support both internal and external customers for review and processing (for example, Expiring Materials Report, Sampling/Testing Reports)
- Process and coordinate sampling with external customers and certified labs as required
- Assist in training other team members to ensure integrity and quality of materials is maintained throughout supply chain as required

Communication/Relationship/
Liaison Communication is internal only, generally with purchasing, expeditors, quality inspectors, Orange Tag Admin., Scanning Clerk, Supervisors and co-workers for the purpose of forwarding documentation to complete the document processing. Must have the ability to communicate and interact well with co-workers and intercompany personnel to complete the inspection and certification process * Direction/Received General supervision and instructions given for routine work and occasional assistance with certification errors.
- Discretion/Latitude/ Decision Quality Minimum discretion and decision making is necessary for standard, established procedures and work instructions used to perform this job. Decisions outside standard procedures must be made by supervisory or management levels
- Drive for Results Ability to consistently meet or exceed departmental goals and objectives accurately and efficiently and to finish assigned tasks or projects on time
Error Impact Wrong part identification and certifications to Wesco purchase order requirements could be costly if not caught in the Document inspection process. If the wrong item is caught in-house, the error may be easily rectified. The impact of wrong product identification or inaccurate certifications if the product is shipped will result in the loss of customer confidence, time and resources to correct the error
