Rail Training Manager
Basic purpose of position :
The position assures site wide compliance with safety policies, procedures, and hazard control activities. This position will be responsible for the training of all site employees in the proper methods and procedures to perform various tasks safely and efficiently This position will evaluate and implement risk control programs by auditing facilities and helping to manage state -based mandatory training and regulatory compliance programs including Federal and state OSHA programs . The Training Manager will continually evaluate and seek to improve methods and procedures to optimize the safety, consistency, quality and efficiency of operations within the assigned location(s). The Training Manager will evaluate the effectiveness of individual employee's performance and engage in remedial instructions with employees as needed.
Must be Bi-Lingual in Spanish and English

Individuals performing this function must be able to manage the development and implementation of operational training in support of the corporate safety program . Individuals must be able to :
Responsibilities:
Assist with orientation of new-hire employees
Create and maintain Company training program s to include implementation and site review.
Support the implementation and maintenance of applicable risk management program policies, procedures and controls.
Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through site audits/ visits, safety plans , e tc.
Provide safety education to employees, supervisory staff and divisional leaders.
Reinforce safety awareness in a manner which promotes openness and a high level of enthusiasm and morale in the field.
Conduct continuous worksite analysis, to ensure compliance with approved operational procedures .
Will be available as assigned during operating times of the site to include after hours and weekends.
Maintain all training documentation to ensure all required onsite records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures.
Assist the Human Resources team with things such as: Recruiting, employee investigations, employee engagement and turnover surveys.

Education Requirements:
High School Education or Equivalent and degree or specific certifications preferred.
Education may be replaced with relevant job related experience.
Experience Requirements:
Should have a minimum of 3 years of training experience including field and safety management responsibilities.
Skills, Licenses, Certification, and/or Special Training:
Must be Bi-Lingual in Spanish and English
Must maintain a valid state driver 's license if requir ed to operate company equipment.
Physical, Mental & Sensory Requirements:
Ability to travel by all forms of commercial conveyance with up to 50% overnight travel over the course of the year ;
Ability to frequently work in an outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions;
Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms during site audit/ visits .
Ability to constantly use bending, twisting, walking motions on uneven surfaces to include crouching for periods of time up to 5 minutes during site Audit/ visits ;
Ability to lift objects or move objects horizontally. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently , and or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
Able to work long hours, more than 8 hours, to perform audits and site visits during all shifts;
Ability to occasionally stand and walk for periods of time greater than 2 hours;
Must be able to hear and communicate work or safety instructions spoken in a normal voice;
Must have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or other equipment;
Ability to communicate using various types of equipment as well as view and change data on a standard computer fo r periods of time greater than 4 hour s daily;
Must be able to work independently and to simultaneously handle multiple tasks;
Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
