Coastal Pines Technical College Admissions Director in Jesup, Georgia

Under minimal supervision, coordinates and directs admissions activities for new and re-entering students for Coastal Pines Technical College; Maintains current knowledge of admissions policies, procedures and guidelines; Develops and implements comprehensive recruitment plan; Provides information to prospective and re-entering students concerning program admission; Processes student applications for acceptance and admission; Coordinates the preparation and maintenance of active and inactive admissions files and records; Develops and maintains working relationships with staff and outside contacts in the community; Supervises subordinate employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Plans and manages activities of admissions of all new and re-entering students.

  2. Manages and oversees financial/budget operation of the department.

  3. Monitors the activities of personnel on multiple locations to ensure compliance with TCSG policy manual and department procedures.

  4. Develops and/or assists with the development of policies and procedures and recommends changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program.

  5. Maintains knowledge of assigned programs and gives updates to management on services, operations, and projects.

  6. Evaluates employees at scheduled intervals upon review of all relevant information.

  7. Remains up to date with policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives.

  8. Conducts regular evaluation of services provided and adjusts as needed.

  9. Develops and implements a comprehensive recruitment plan.

  10. Assists in marketing and public relations activities.

  11. Directs processing of student applications for acceptance and admission into regular programs and for special needs.

  12. Oversees student testing activities.

  13. Provides information by telephone, written correspondence and in person to interested parties regarding application procedures and admissions requirements.

  14. Develops and maintains working relationships, communications, and contacts with staff as well as other agencies, consultants, legislators, the general public, etc. Promotes good public relations.

  15. Assists with the design and execution of special events, projects, and activities.

  16. Creates and maintains a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientation.

  17. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.

  18. Assist Student Activities Coordinator with New Student Orientation, Student Organization and Campus Activities.

  19. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college or university and three years of work-related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Specific experience in employment services; experience in planning or evaluating office or program procedures/processes; experience in staff interviewing and selection; experience instructing and/or counseling students. Excellent oral and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills for a diverse student population.
