Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities What to Expect May perform one or more of the following duties: Scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy (industrial-type) powered scrubbers and buffers. Vacuum cleans rugs, using heavy (industrial-type) vacuum cleaner. Adjusts, cleans, and oils these machines, and changes brushes, rollers, buffers, and other attachments on them. Washes and replaces Venetian blinds, changes light bulbs and washes ceiling fixtures and room partitions, using ladders and scaffolds. Moves heavy furniture, supplies and equipment. Keeps rest rooms in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls. Cleans mirrors, sinks, and water fountains. Dusts ledges and woodwork. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap. Maintains a stock of cleaning materials and equipment and notifies supervisor when more are needed. May perform one or more of the following duties: Uses heavy power mowers, adjusts blades, and cleans and oils mowers; cuts trees, using ax or chain saw. Digs ditches and trenches with pick and shovel where dirt is hard and compact and does grading and sloping. Occasionally and for short periods of time. May operate outdoor equipment to include, but not limited to; power blower and lawn mower. Assists in the arrangement of tables, chairs, buffet lines, chaffers, dance floors, and other equipment as required for Catering functions. May set up offsite, moving all catering furnishings as needed, loading and unloading, and setting up. May assist in moving warming and other food service catering equipment as needed. May be assigned to any Food and Hospitality facility on a temporary or permanent basis as needed. May be required to work a fluctuating work schedule to complete the mission, to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Special care is required to avoid serious injuries. Outdoor work is performed in all kinds of weather. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. Performs other related duties as required. Ability to operate, control, and clean heavy power equipment and to work safely with heavy tools. Prior job experience or on-the-job training is normally required to gain this ability. Ability to complete assignments involving several tasks or processes which require remembering directions, sequences, etc. Ability to recognize hazardous materials and wastes in regard to chemical cleaning compounds and solutions. The incumbent is responsible for completing work after getting initial oral or written instructions. Exerts moderately heavy physical effort in doing such tasks as frequently lifting and moving objects, running power mowers and other equipment. Prolonged standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Work indoors may expose the worker to drafts, noise, odors, dust and dirt and require standing on concrete floors for long periods. Must wear issued protective gear. Exposed to minor injuries.
