This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Who We Are

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing a roadmap to define and fulfill MBSE goals and capabilities across the enterprise, inclusive of tools, methods, processes, and infrastructure. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for generating quantifiable requirements based on customer descriptions, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.

We will have several opportunities based in multiple locations to include Jacksonville, FL, Pax River, MD, & Crane, IN, remote schedules may be available.

This role is to support the upcoming proposal: Logistics, ISR, and Next-Gen Technology (LOGIX) TO focuses on ILS to support as envisioned by the JADC2 Strategy of moving to joint/combined capability development. The LOGIX TO will also support the JADC2 goal to deliver a relevant information advantage with ISR operations and logistics support. To support continued progress and sustainment of the JADC2 Strategy, the LOGIX TO support the accelerated application of technological solutions by analyzing new and emerging technologies for DIU-NSIN Mission Partner systems, technologies, capabilities, platforms, equipment, and associated subordinate and supporting systems used to execute their missions.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement a roadmap to define and fulfill MBSE goals and capabilities across the enterprise, inclusive of tools, methods, processes, and infrastructure.

  • Generate quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.

  • Ensure requirements comply with client requirements and Government standards through formal verification methods.

  • Translate high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and work with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements.

  • Establish and coordinate development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development.

  • Design and modify interfaces and bring system elements together, so they work as a whole.

  • Provide Interface Design deliverables, as required.

  • Implement Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA) to maximize C4ISR subsystem, system, and platform affordability, re-configurability, overall performance, and hardware/software/firmware re-use.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

  • Strong understanding of MBSE goals and capabilities.

  • Experience in generating quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.

  • Knowledge of formal verification methods.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines.

  • Knowledge of Government standards and regulations.

  • Strong understanding of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA).

  • Knowledge of C4ISR subsystem, system, and platform affordability, re-configurability, overall performance, and hardware/software/firmware re-use.

  • Experience in assessing performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines.

  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Top-Secret with SCI eligibility.

Preferred: Bonus Points For...

  • More than 5 years of experience with systems development, systems integration, systems test & evaluation, and risk management for DoD modification programs.

  • Familiarity with DAU SETR Process and DoD Aviation Platforms.

Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
