FirstService Residential Community Design and Review Coordinator in Irvine, California

Job Overview:

The Community Design and Review Coordinator (CDRC) will assist in the preservation of the appearance of Great Park Neighborhoods residential community through implementation of the architectural and enforcement processes established by the Governing Documents, Design Review Committee (DRC), and Board of Directors. These processes include overseeing the architectural submittal process, and identifying and responding to infractions of the Governing Documents.

Spanning approximately 2,100 acres in the heart of Irvine, the Great Park Neighborhoods Community sits on the former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro base. The base has been transformed into a community that honors its military past while creating an inventive city of the future. Great Park Neighborhoods Community will continue to be developed over the coming years into multiple neighborhoods offering homes for people of all ages and all lifestyles. The community is slated for approximately 10,000 homes to be built over these years of development and will have several parks, pools, clubhouses, reservable indoor and outdoor spaces, school sites, and more. All of this falls under the careful care of Management of Great Park Neighborhoods Community Association.

We are looking for an individual that will be an active supporter of GPN’s vision and philosophies, and FirstService Residential’s commitment to client, staff, and community. The ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented and organized. The expectation for this individual is to supportthe General Manager (GM), Assistant General Manager (AGM), and Community Design Review Manager (CDRM) to meet GPN Board goals and objectives with respect to preservation of the appearance of the community in line with the Operating Standards, and to ensure effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the architectural and enforcement processes. This position reports directly to the CDRM.

Compensation: $21-23/hr

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Job Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence:

  • Adhere to and enforce all architectural and enforcement processes for GPN
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all Design Review Guidelines and other Governing Documents that are related to DRC activities
  • Direct liaison for architectural and violation needs of all neighborhoods, including regular correspondence and collaboration with the Association’s architectural consultant
  • Interact and follow up with homeowners regarding architectural and/or enforcement issues of the Association when necessary; communicate with residents both verbally and in writing to answer questions, respond to any concerns, and provide education on Association rules and processes
  • Develop agendas for and lead bi-monthly architectural workshops
  • Responsible for completion of applicable inspections and punch list items
  • Responsible to ensure the CDRT’s consistent maintenance of information in Connect and Smartwebs (and other FirstService database programs as assigned), maintaining accurate and complete records as required to properly and effectively implement the Enforcement and Architectural Programs. This includes homeowner records, violation reports and correspondence, hearing correspondence, plan submittals (pending, approved, and denied), homeowner correspondence, etc.
  • Submit all charge-backs for association(s) via chargeback systems, including but not limited to violation fines and architectural submission fees per the clients' management contracts.
  • Work closely with the CDRM to execute Association projects/action items/vision, providing focused/specialized input, education, and guidance on architectural and compliance matters
  • Develop, enforce, and regularly evaluate protocols and procedures for team operations including attendance in architectural workshops
  • Coordinate and attend designated meetings or functions as requested

  • The work environment characteristics are small office conditions at an onsite facility.
