Robert Half Network Engineer in Inglewood, California

Description We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team in the manufacturing industry, based in Inglewood, California. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. This role offers a contract-to-hire employment opportunity, providing an excellent chance to showcase your skills and potentially transition into a more permanent role.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement network enhancements, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the network.

• Utilize various network protocols such as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, and Eigrp.

• Handle network hardware including Cisco routers, switches, and configuring SonicWall and Cisco ASA firewalls.

• Manage SAN - Storage Area Network, ensuring the smooth and secure data storage and retrieval.

• Maintain and troubleshoot VPN - Virtual Private Network to facilitate secure remote access.

• Implement and manage network switches, enhancing the connectivity within the network.

• Use network maintenance tools for regular checks and updates.

• Maintain the firewall technologies to secure the network from potential threats.

• Design and manage network configurations in line with the company's needs.

• Resolve any network-related issues promptly and efficiently. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a network engineering role within a manufacturing industry

• Proficient in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Routers, and Cisco Technologies

• Strong knowledge of computer hardware and configuration management

• Ability to design, implement and manage network switches and routers

• Experience with Eigrp, Firewall Technologies, and SAN - Storage Area Network

• Understanding of VPN technologies and Virtual Private Network

• Familiarity with SonicWall and Dell SonicWALL firewall systems

• Proficient in managing and maintaining network switches, routers, and firewalls

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is preferred

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure

• Strong communication and team collaboration skills

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

• Must possess a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware

• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers

• Deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols

• Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems

• Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection

• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources

• Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization

• A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills

• Dependable and flexible when necessary

• Network security experience
