CDL Hazmat Driver

Job Purpose:

Marken CDL Hazmat Drivers will ensure all shipments are efficiently tendered, recovered to/from the airlines and ensure timely delivery to clients and Marken logistics offices to achieve the results that is expected according to Marken’s client contracts, SOPs and operating work Instructions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out the day-to-day transportation operations including; tendering and recovery of freight to support the national/global Marken network of logistics branches and depots

• Efficient time management of daily assigned routing to help meet business requirements and growth of Marken’s Clinical Trial Distribution business

• Work in a fast-paced environment, which includes handling multiple route assignments, and deliveries

• Ensure that the vehicle’s daily safety and maintenance checklist is performed before and after each shift and in compliance with cGDP, State, and Federal regulatory guideline including; OSHA, DOT, FDA, TSA, CBP

• Maintain constant communication with Dispatchers and supervisors for all surface transportation and supply chain solutions assignments and projects

• Support of annual maintenance schedules of all critical fleet equipment and reporting any and all incidents including; vehicle damage, tickets, and vehicle irregularities to dispatchers and supervisor

• Responsible for weekly thorough cleaning of vehicle’s interior and washing of exterior

• Support the transportation, warehouse and logistics operations departments as required

• Assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction opportunities

• Perform investigations in areas of non-conformance and implementation of appropriate actions to prevent recurrence thru Corrective and Preventive Actions

• Knowing your passwords and Log ins for Zen and Maestro

• Sending photos or emails to dispatch for signed Pickups and Deliveries

• Stay current with all required training and licensing according to Marken Global Quality Standard, SOPs, Work Instructions and regulatory guidelines

• Role may require working on weekends and/or holidays as required by business needs and/or management

• Must have ability on occasion, to drive for long periods of time within reason, and travel out of the Metropolitan San Francisco area

• Must have ability on occasion to stay overnight in a hotel, should the drive go over service hours

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Must have a current CDL with Hazmat endorsement

• 1 year driving experience in a cargo van or box truck

• Clean driving record – no more than 2 infractions in the past 3 years

• Clean background
