YMCA Cape Cod Y Achievers Program Director in Hyannis, Massachusetts
The Program Director is responsible for a broad base of educational & other non-physical as well as physical programs. Plans, organizes & directs youth & adult programs & instructional classes for this college readiness/career development program. Recruits, trains & supports assigned staff, instructors, & volunteers. Responsible for scheduling, programming, fundraising, promoting, & monitoring all activities in the Achievers &/or related programs serving teen & adult participants from low income & communities of color. Essential Functions: Develops, implements, manages & controls department budget ensuring operation within budget. Coordinates the development of the Achievers Steering & sub committees. Coordinates the development & management of Achievers programs achieving college preparedness & career awareness operating objectives. Executes the policies & goals of the Association & YMCA Achievers. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, & supervises program staff & volunteers, as appropriate, within the operational needs & budget. Reviews & evaluates performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff & volunteers & achieve goals. Ensures staff & volunteer certifications, if applicable, are current while maintaining accurate records. Facilitates communication & provides leadership. Supervises & evaluates program staff & volunteer in the implementation of college readiness, career clusters, & schedules to accomplish annual objectives & meet program needs. Direct the Achievers Program annual banquet fundraising event & Scholarship Campaigns. Develops & maintains relationships with current & potential funding sources, both private & public, & collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery. Direct staff & volunteers in the development of program recruitment & strategies/campaigns ensuring engagement of teen & adult participants from low income & communities of color. Provides \"hands-on\" leadership coordinating teen training workshops, college tours, World of Work tours, career fairs, annual Teen Summit trips cultural enrichment programming & other program initiatives. Represents YMCA Achievers at appropriate Association meetings & local, national & regional events. Maintains community contacts & visibility to ensure YMCA Achievers maintains a high degree of acceptance & credibility within the corporate community & service area. Models the values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility & provides/maintains an environment in which these values are evident to staff, members & program participants through all levels of the association. Attends staff meetings & trainings. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations & procedures, including emergency & safety procedures. Completes reports as necessary. Qualifications: Associate\'s degree in education, human services, social services, business or equivalent. Bachelor?s degree preferred. Two or more years of experience in youth & teen programming, such as educational & personal development, college preparedness & workforce readiness. Experience in financial development & community relations, supervision & volunteer development. Ability to persuade & motivate others into action, direct programs through supervision of volunteers, staff & multiple levels of leadership within organization, develop & monitor budgets, marketing & public relations, program development & fundraising. Proficient in all standard business software, MS Excel, MSWord, PowerPoint, Outlook, business math, & data entry; Microsoft office preferred. Ability to make effective presentations to top management, public groups & Board of Directors. Prefer knowledge of, & previous experience with, diverse populations. Ability to establish & maintain collaborations with community organizations. Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese preferred. Certifications: CPR, First Aid, & AED within 60 days of employment.
