Job Title: Carpenter

Job Description

As a carpenter, you will execute daily work instructions, including loading, transporting, and delivering materials to job sites. You will maintain company material handling equipment, record material amounts, and inspect materials upon delivery. You will also load and unload materials, operate manual material handling equipment, and perform labor on job sites. Additionally, you will assist in waste disposal and recycling activities, perform routine facility inspections, and maintain a clean and organized warehouse area. It is essential to maintain a clean driving record and abide by transportation laws.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily work instructions, including loading, transporting, and delivering materials to job sites.

  • Maintain company material handling equipment in safe and good working conditions.

  • Record the material amount or count received and circulated.

  • Inspect material upon delivery to the warehouse to identify any damages.

  • Load and unload material to and from job sites.

  • Operate manual material handling equipment such as hand jacks and wheeled carts safely.

  • Lift and carry material as needed.

  • Perform labor on the job site as necessary.

  • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.

  • Collect and dispose of garbage.

  • Perform routine facility inspections including electrical and mechanical maintenance.

  • Maintain the warehouse area, keeping it clean, safe, and organized.

  • Work effectively to meet or exceed schedule goals while maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Maintain a clean driving record and abide by all transportation laws.

  • Be mindful of parking work vehicles when on the job site to avoid penalties.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in construction and carpentry.

  • Experience with framing, finish carpentry, rough carpentry, and door installation.

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Experience with drywall, spackling, and skim-coating.

  • OSHA 30 certification.

  • SST certification.

  • Clean MVR and check.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with metal stud installation, trim work, and demolition.

  • Strong work ethic and reliability.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Work Environment

This is a hard-working environment with a family-owned company. The work schedule is a night shift from 5 pm to 12 am, Monday through Friday, with overtime available weekly, including weekends.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington Station, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
