Job Title: Winder Trainee

Job Description

We are seeking two Winder Trainees to join our day shift team. In this role, you will be trained to run a fiberglass winding machine, wrapping fiberglass threads around a steel mandrel to create solid fiberglass pipes. Your training will include ensuring the threads are laid smoothly on the mandrel, layer by layer, until the desired thickness is achieved.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor fiberglass winding machines.

• Wrap fiberglass threads around a steel mandrel to create fiberglass pipes.

• Ensure threads are laid smoothly and evenly on the mandrel.

• Monitor the winding process to achieve the required pipe thickness.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

• Assist with production tasks as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience with fiberglass winding machines.

• Machine operating experience.

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

• Attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with fiberglass is a must.

• Production and extrusion experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The work is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility. The environment can become quite hot, especially during warm weather due to the machinery in use. You will need to be on your feet for the entire shift. The day shift hours are from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime and weekend work as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
