Job Title: Plate Burner

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Plate Burner to operate an oxy fuel track torch for cutting and beveling material. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting material primarily up to 1.75" thick, and occasionally up to 3" thick, using a track torch equipped with 5 torches. This role involves measuring and cutting material according to blueprints, setting up and adjusting the track torch (including bevels, pressure, tips, and speed), and using a hand torch for cuts that cannot be made with the track torch. Additionally, the role requires using an overhead crane to move material onto and off of the machine.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Houston, Texas.

Work Environment

The position starts on a day shift for 10 months, potentially moving to a night shift for 2-4 months, with a subsequent rotation back to day shifts for 6-10 months. Day shift hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with Saturdays as needed. The second shift runs from 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., Monday to Friday, with a $1.25 shift differential for night shifts. The work environment is loud and open-aired.
