Job overview and responsibilities
This position serves as a representative of the Inflight Training team with a focus on the Media side of Inflight Training operations. The role will implement photography and video production initiatives which include pre-production planning, filming on location, setting up camera gear, lighting and sound, processing/cataloging footage, post-production editing and ensuring the final product aligns with United's visual identity in order to support flight attendant training programs and communications
Collaborate with the Inflight Training team in visual storytelling by developing all video and photo content as required with the use of digital video equipment and industry-standard editing tools
Plans and performs post-production tasks which includes reviewing/cataloging footage, initial edits, audio adjustments, color correction, and final edits for training presentations
Designs, transports, sets up, and operates production equipment, including camera, audio and lighting equipment, for field and studio productions
Manages assigned media project timelines and deliverables while communicating updates and changes to stakeholders
Proactively finds solutions to technical, creative, and process challenges
Creates and edits unique and creative visual assets that maximize audience engagement while leveraging traditional techniques
Seeks out and applies new and current knowledge of visual media technology and techniques
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in Video Producer / Editor
1+ year(s) of experience with video production, training content creation
Experience in project management or process design
Strong written and verbal skills
Effective time management, presentation, planning and organizational skills
Ability to work under time constraints
Ability to troubleshoot technical software issue to ensure rapid resolution
Ability to work weekdays and weekends (including holidays) if needed
Must be able to show work samples from previous projects e.g. video footage
Deep understanding of standard principles, theories, concepts, and audiovisual (AV) techniques
Past camera experience, demonstrating knowledge of camera and lens settings as well as log color profiles and apply them to dynamic film situations and environments
Proficient with Adobe creative software for video and photo editing software (Premier Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom)
Proficiency on Mac and or MS Windows based PCs, as well as with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc)
Ability to prepare the studio set, including cameras, lighting, props, and equipment
Ability to input music, dialogues, standard graphics, transitions and effects into videos
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
Results oriented, can easily identify priority items, and get them done in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
Bachelor's degree
Proficient with DaVinci Resolve editing/ coloring software
Utilizes/ is proficient with motion graphics and compositing software (Adobe After Effects) for video post-production
Experience with graphic design and/or animation a plus
The base pay range for this role is $52,725.00 to $71,830.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
