DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Municipal Courts has an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Representative I position. Who will provide general information and customer assistance by using effective problem-solving techniques to achieve quality customer service. As an official of the Court, your responsibilities may include, but not limited to the following:
Process Deferred Payment Plans ordered by the courts.
Assist citizens with compliance of their Deferred Payment Plan.
Scan court documents into the Court’s case management system.
Data entry of payments by cash, check, credit card, and money order in the Court’s case management system.
High levels of direst contacts with the general public court staff and judges.
Dissemination of court information as required.
Periodic rotation to alternate Court locations and/or sections.
Verify end-of-day iNovah batch deposit summaries while ensuring compliance with all internal controls related to funds.
Assist customers with various inquiries and maintain productive relationships with external stake holders. Use effective questioning techniques to verify/confirm customer concerns.
Understand and fully participate in the achievement of the department goals and ensures completion of assigned tasks.
Other administrative and customer service-related responsibilities as assigned.
Must submit to annual background checks.
*Please know that this position is designated as a Tier 1 position and the selected candidate will have to work during inclement weather conditions. *
WORKING CONDITIONS
General office setting. May require long periods of standing or sitting at a computer terminal and interacting with citizens in person and by telephone. Must be able to work weekends and/or holidays as needed. Must be able to travel to other court locations, sometimes on short notice when needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a high school diploma or a GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Six (6) months of administrative or customer service-related experience is required.
An Associate’s degree may be substituted for the experience requirement.

PREFERENCES
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) Strong working knowledge of Integrated Case Management Systems (ICMS) and its functionalities. Prior experience working in electronic court environment is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Two (2) years of lead experience is preferred.
