A Buyer is needed for a company that transports, distributes and generates energy, with diversified assets that include a balance between crude oil and natural gas in the Houston, TX area. This position is responsible for managing purchase order requests, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services while maintaining compliance and relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

responsibilities:

• Review and process purchase requisitions for goods/services.

• Ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and requisition requirements.

• Engage with suppliers, contractors, project managers, engineers, consultants, and other personnel regarding requisition requirements and procurement procedures.

• Maintain records per policies, procedures, and audit guidelines (SOX requirements).

• Build and maintain relations with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• Release reviewed and approved purchase orders to suppliers.

• Validate and execute change orders as required.

Skills:

• Basic understanding of supply chain concepts, market conditions, key suppliers, and procurement.

• Effective team communication and stakeholder influence without authority.

• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment with a sense of urgency.

• Knowledge of procurement processes/policies (SOX policies).

• Understanding of purchasing practices, procedures, industry trends, and legal terminology.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

• Integrity, ethical behavior, trust, safety, and stewardship.

Education and Experience:

• University degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.

• 3 years in Supply Chain as a materials/services buyer.
