Job Description

A utilities client in the Houston area is looking for a Business Analyst to join their Warehouse & Logistics Team. This team is responsible for supply chain warehousing on the Gas side. Meaning, they manage the material within the warehouse from an operational need. They also cut POs, do the billing and work with suppliers. They are the front-line workers that are analyzing the inventory data and usage of the material and requesting the material from those teams and managing the day-to-day operations at the warehouse. They charge material out as needed.

This role collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Field Operations, Logistics and Warehousing and Materials Management groups, to meet business targets in accurate project material charging, tracking progress of capital projects and continuous improvement. This individual supports the Warehousing and Logistics Team, Materials Management Team, and Gas Capital Delivery team in accurate project material charging and project management. The teams contractor construction partners will be submitting daily their material usage sheets to this team. They will be moving the material to plant stock and charging it to the correct work orders. They will have to analyze material availability within those plants to make sure the charges can be done. These two Business Analysts will be supporting 60 contractors. They will work in SAP to enter material tickets that are emailed or faxed over throughout the day. They will be receiving material tickets, confirm material quantity within the plant and then charge them out. That will include entering the order number so it may connect with that specific order. This will most likely develop into usage reporting and some general data reporting based off SAP data. They have in house dashboards they will leverage as well. A lot of the data they will be reviewing comes from the warehouse.

Responsibilities:

 Working day to day with Gas Contractors to charge project material installed during field operations.

 Collects and maintains data to support capital project tracking.

 Provide data and to relevant stake holders on capital projects.

 Provides support for data requests from various internal stakeholders.

 Develop, populate, and report out to stakeholders, relevant performance benchmarks and scorecards.

 Collects and organizes data to understand cost structures and determines impact of project scope changes and material updates.

 Proficient user of the financial systems used by the organization to plan, execute, and report out our Project material tracking.

 Proficient user of SAP Production environment.

 Performs essential functions with oversight and review.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting from an accredited college, university or relevant work experience.

 Business/Materials Analyst experience

 Utility experience or business experience

 SAP experience (entering material tickets that are emailed or faxed inventory levels)

 Microsoft office Suite null
