Overview

The Building & Infrastructure (B&I) Manager at Bureau Veritas Vietnam plays a critical role in overseeing the financial performance and growth of the division, with a strong focus on profitability and cost management. This role involves leading the B&I team, driving revenue generation, optimizing operational efficiency, and managing the division's profit and loss (P&L) to achieve financial targets. The Manager will ensure high-quality project delivery while maintaining strict control over budgets and resources to maximize profitability. Those job performance are within the framework of the BV Quality Assurance System, QHSE policy, Codes of Ethics and BV Group’s policies and procedures.

Tasks – Activities – Responsibilities

  1. Operational & Technical Management:
  • Lead and manage all operational activities within the Building & Infrastructure division, ensuring adherence to Bureau Veritas standards and industry regulations.

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of building and infrastructure projects from inception to completion.

  • Ensure all projects meet quality, safety, and technical standards while maintaining a focus on cost control and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges, ensuring timely and effective solutions.

  • Continuously review and improve operational processes to enhance productivity and service delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with local and international building codes, standards, and safety regulations.

  1. Profit & Loss (P&L) Management:
  • Take full ownership of the division’s P&L, including revenue generation, cost control, and maximizing profitability.

  • Monitor financial performance, analyze profit margins, and implement strategies to achieve or exceed financial targets.

  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue, costs, and profit margins.

  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth, such as streamlining operations, improving resource allocation, and exploring new business opportunities.

  • Work closely with finance and senior management to set and meet budgetary targets, and make financial forecasts for future business development.

  1. Business Development & Client Relations:
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth in the construction and infrastructure sectors.

  • Identify new market opportunities and build a strong pipeline of potential projects.

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients while securing new partnerships to support the division’s financial growth.

  • Lead contract negotiations, ensuring that terms are both competitive and profitable.

  1. Cost Optimization & Resource Management:
  • Manage resource allocation across projects to ensure optimal use of personnel, equipment, and materials, avoiding budget overruns.

  • Identify areas where operational efficiency can be improved and implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality or timelines.

  • Review project budgets regularly to ensure they remain aligned with financial goals, making adjustments where necessary to maintain profitability.

  1. Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of project managers, engineers, and technical staff, fostering a high-performance culture.

  • Set clear performance goals for team members and provide regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.

  • Ensure that the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to deliver technical excellence while meeting financial objectives.

  1. Risk & Financial Oversight:
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks that could impact project profitability or timelines.

  • Regularly review project progress and financial performance, addressing potential discrepancies or risks early on.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, including proper documentation and invoicing for all projects.

Candidate Profile

  • University Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Higher diploma in Project Management.

  • At least 10 - 15 years’ experience in construction fields.

  • Strong technical knowledge of construction, infrastructure standards, and project management methodologies.

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale projects while driving financial performance and profitability.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

  • Proficient in project management tools and financial analysis software.

  • Fluent in both English and Vietnamese.

  • Strong written and verbal skills in English.

  • Willing to travel within the country and abroad.
