The AWS Field Services Engineering organization is seeking a dynamic, organized, and experienced Technical Project Manager to join the Maintenance and Tooling team. This team is focused on building power and cooling maintenance programs for AWS Data Centers globally. This person will be responsible for overall project coordination and alignment across five sub-teams within the Maintenance and Tooling team. They will help define better mechanisms, metrics, and goals to monitor the health of multiple programs. This role will work across multiple tech teams and be expected to influence the improvement of existing tools, systems, and processes during operational planning cycles.
You will lead collaboration with business and technical teams to deliver world-class solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible while maintaining a strong customer focus. You will work with stakeholders and multiple business teams to identify, define, and specify solutions meeting data center operational requirements. You will work with multiple technical teams globally to deliver those solutions. You will be a face and voice for the project teams and ensure all stakeholders are aware of successes, risks and project status. You will tailor your communications to specific audiences and communicate clearly and concisely to both business and technical audiences. Because we are on the forefront of many power and cooling problems, you will be expected to successfully navigate and operate in a highly ambiguous environment.

Key job responsibilities
• Develop and own plan of record for programs and projects in scope.
• Build, integrate, and maintain reporting for areas of responsibility within existing reporting schemes and mechanisms. Where required, implement new reporting.
• Build and manage project schedules/plans to support project delivery.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders in multiple business and technical teams to define and deliver on agreed upon milestones.
• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs.
• Plan and coordinate workshops including facilitation and action item management.
• Implement or enable continuous improvement cycles.
• Continuously monitor key metrics.
• Measure and report effectiveness of new programs and platforms.
• Communicate project issues and status in a concise, accurate, and professional manner
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities managing risk by bridging interdepartmental gaps.
• Writing business review docs (monthly, 6 pagers, business requirements docs).
A day in the life
A typical day for this individual would be a mix of meeting (in person/remote) and influencing stakeholders across multiple businesses and global regions. Non-meeting time will be focused developing project plans, aligning on milestones across teams, doc writing, developing/monitoring metrics, understand end customer requirements and pain points, and reporting on status of efforts.
About the team
The Maintenance and Tooling team is responsible for developing power and cooling maintenance programs. The team defines scopes of work for these asset types, defines spares standards, develops tooling to gather PM data and identify failures, develops digital procedures to execute work, and manages CMMS tooling to track assets, work, labor, and spares. The team acts as the global process owners for Engineering Operations Technicians operating critical DC infrastructure to support power and cooling to servers.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of technical product or program management experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
Experience with MS Project, MS Office, and MS Sharepoint
Able to write six page narratives, business requirements documents, monthly business reviews and present up to senior leaders
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams
Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
