Purpose of the Position:
The Mechanical Technician will design, analyze, and optimize mechanical components and systems used in production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, CAD design, and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems, including panels, mounting structures, trackers, and balance of system (BOS) components.
- Perform analysis and simulations to validate design concepts, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with technical specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, to translate design requirements into manufacturable products.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) to create detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications for mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments for proposed design solutions, evaluating factors such as manufacturability, durability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Generate documentation, including bill of materials (BOM), design documentation, test plans, and technical reports, to support product development and manufacturing processes.
- Participate in design reviews, prototype testing, and validation activities, providing technical expertise and recommendations to resolve design issues and optimize product performance.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and change orders (ECO), ensuring smooth transition and integration of design changes into production.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, resolving design-related issues, implementing process improvements, and optimizing production workflows.
Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in mechanical work and participate in professional development activities and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Work Hours:
Standard Hours (Monday -- Friday, 8am-5pm).
