Humana Senior Full Stack Engineer in Helena, Montana

The Senior Full Stack Engineer Performs software engineering activities in all layers of the stack, from setting up the database to programming in the back-end and the appearance at the front-end. The Senior Full Stack Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

What do you bring to the table"

You are a Senior Engineer with 8 or more years of experience with Cloud-based services and experience development. You are capable of owning significant design and development responsibility. You can work with autonomy to get things done while collaborating with others on architectural and process decisions. You are comfortable with giving and receiving feedback from your teammates and others in the organization. You can think on your feet and conceptualize what needs to be done from incomplete and evolving requirements. You hit deadlines and communicate effectively.

The Senior Full Stack Engineer Is involved in all stages of software development, including front-end development, back-end development, database integrations, network and hosting management, user interface, user experience, and back-end server management. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks and works under minimal supervision; uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

  • Lead technical architecture and design and present vision

  • Problem-solving expertise using advanced data structures and algorithms

  • Possess the ability to evaluate problems in both strategic and tactical terms

  • Lead a small team of high-caliber engineers by mentoring and coaching

  • Senior positive change with technical vision and innovative solutions

  • Strong affinity to software-driven engineering & automation

  • Partner with senior business and functional leaders to define technical direction

  • Deliver business-critical systems and components with high quality and on time

  • Lead by example by doing hands-on platform, backend, and frontend development

  • Review requests and provide constructive feedback

  • Investigate and propose new ideas, frameworks technologies, or processes

The successful candidate will also have experience with:

• Azure Cloud Services

• Designing solutions architecture

• Building scalable web platform

• Building RESTful APIs

• Working with Infrastructure and security as code

• Building high performing teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent, relevant work experience in lieu of degree requirement.

  • 8 or more years of progressive experience as a senior developer in large IT projects

  • Proficient understanding and tech-lead level experience in one or more programming languages (Java, Scala, etc.)

  • Experience with Spring/Spring Boot

  • Experience with JSON, RESTful web services and client-server interactions

  • Experience with highly scalable websites and web services (Vue.js, Angular etc.)

  • Knowledge of and experience with Azure or equivalent could provider

  • Environment management/orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Docker, AKS, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$106,900 - $147,000 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
