Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Harvey, Louisiana

Description

We are seeking an Accounting Clerk for our client in Harvey, Louisiana. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities including processing invoices, data entry, and assisting in Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) procedures. This role is a short- contract to full time employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing accounts payable, including vendor invoice and disbursement filing, and invoice matching & filing

• Support accounts receivable by processing daily invoices/credit, applying cash receipts, and assisting with the collection of past due balances

• Aid in general accounting and administration, including aiding with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, along with other ad hoc projects

• Correct transaction documents, potentially necessitating the revision of other documents or entries as well as the original; may initiate other actions

• Code documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

• Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

• Post financial information to journals, registers, and ledgers, manually or by electronic equipment

• Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

• Assist in budgetary control by monitoring budgets and originating or verifying adjustments and transfers

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar role as an Accounting Clerk

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge and experience with Account Reconciliation

• Familiarity with Billing processes

• Proven data entry skills

• Experience in Invoice Processing

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks

• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

• Knowledge of general accounting principles and regulations

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
