The Business Consultant will be responsible for developing and maintaining staffing models to ensure the organization has the right number of employees with the appropriate skills to meet its operational needs. This role involves analyzing current staffing levels, forecasting future staffing requirements, and creating strategies to optimize workforce efficiency.

The Business Consultant will also support the design, build, and delivery of reports, assessing the effectiveness of strategies, and making recommendations to our internal customers and leadership in support of ever-changing business needs.

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES?

  • Maintain and enhance staffing models that align with the organization's strategic goals and operational needs.

  • Evaluate the current workforce to identify gaps and areas for improvement.

  • Use historical data and predictive analytics to anticipate future staffing requirements during the annual budget cycle.

  • Work closely with Underwriting Leaders to understand staffing needs and develop effective staffing plans.

  • Prepare reports and presentations on staffing analysis and recommendations for senior management.

  • Produce monthly/quarterly reports for Senior Management and other audiences which include key metrics for Quote Inventory, Renewals, Pricing, and Persistency.

  • Complete ad hoc reporting requests for various areas such as Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, and Sales/Service.

  • Identify opportunities to automate existing reports and streamline the current reporting process.

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?

  • 3+ years of experience in workforce planning, staffing analysis, or a related field.

  • BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent experience in quantitative/analytical areas such as Statistics, Data Mining, Computer Science, Risk Management, or Business.

  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis tools, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in staffing models and forecasts.

  • Strong critical thinking skills to address staffing challenges and develop effective solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey staffing analysis and recommendations.

  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.

This position may be filled at a different level, depending on experience

Salary $70,960 - $129,600

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$70,960 - $129,600

The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
