Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

The Senior Director of Tech & Ops Organizational Change Management (EOCM) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving the execution of organizational change management initiatives across Tech & Ops. This role focuses on managing the people side of change, ensuring that change efforts are effectively planned, implemented, and adopted, driving successful transformation across the organization. The individual in this role will leverage deep expertise in OCM methodologies to lead enterprise-wide transformation efforts, build organizational capabilities in change management, and partner with business lines to deliver program-level change effectively. The Senior Director will also serve as a thought leader within the company, fostering a culture of change readiness, while developing and executing comprehensive learning programs that support the successful adoption of change across all levels of the organization.

What Will You Do?

  • OCM Thought Leadership & Strategy : Act as a subject matter expert in OCM, providing strategic guidance to business leaders and key stakeholders. Drive thought leadership within the organization by fostering innovative approaches to managing and embedding change, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of OCM best practices.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Change Adoption : Work closely with stakeholders at all levels to assess change impacts, manage expectations, and develop tailored strategies that prepare the organization for successful transformation. Champion OCM principles and lead efforts to drive adoption and mitigate resistance.

  • OCM Methodology Execution : Implement and embed the Travelers OCM framework and tools consistently across the organization. Promote the integration of OCM practices into business processes, ensuring that changes are effectively managed and business goals are met.

  • Learning Program Design & Delivery: Collaborate with business leaders to translate their strategic vision into actionable, engaging learning programs. Lead the design, development, and delivery of comprehensive learning programs that enable the organization to effectively manage and adapt to change. Ensure learning content is aligned with transformation goals, engaging employees, and enhancing their change readiness. Facilitate learning sessions that are dynamic, interactive, and impactful, addressing both individual and organizational needs.

  • Team Development & Mentorship: Mentor and coach OCM professionals, helping to foster leadership, skill development, and knowledge sharing across the team.

  • Communication & Reporting: Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure OCM initiatives are communicated effectively, aligning with strategic priorities and employee needs.

  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify potential risks to change initiatives and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth transitions.

  • Management of Resources: Oversee and manage internal and external resources, including direct reports, contractors, and change management professionals, ensuring effective collaboration, performance, and alignment with organizational goals. This includes setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and ensuring resource optimization across multiple projects.

  • OCM Community of Practice (CoP): Actively participate in the OCM CoP to foster knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and the development of best practices across the enterprise. Contribute insights from OCM initiatives, share successful strategies, and help build organizational capability in change management.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

  • At least 6-8 years of experience leading OCM or transformation efforts.

  • Strong experience in creating, designing, and delivering comprehensive learning programs.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to influence and lead senior leaders and teams through complex change initiatives.

  • Demonstrated experience developing multi-year technology strategies and roadmaps.

  • Experience working with advanced project-management methodologies and Agile principles.

  • Ability to lead and inspire team members to achieve optimal results in a highly collaborative and matrixed organization.

  • Experience managing external OCM consultants or teams, if applicable.

  • Systemic thinker with strategic planning expertise, readily sees patterns and connections in a complicated environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to put strategic plans into action.

  • Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skillset.

  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Deep understanding and appreciation for business, business intelligence/analytics, and technology components of program/portfolio management.

What is a Must Have?

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of related experience or equivalent in education and work experience
