Oracle Leave and Disability Program Manager in Hartford, Connecticut

Job Description

The Oracle Leave and Disability Program Manager will be responsible for leading the Oracle US Benefits Leave and Disability team, while also overseeing Oracle leave and disability and reasonable accommodation programs, policies and managing Oracle’s leave and disability vendor relationship.

In this capacity, the Leave and Disability Manager will:

  • Have experience managing leaves and disability programs for large employee populations (50,000 or greater), preferably in the high-tech industry;

  • Provide subject-matter expertise related to all forms of leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations and compliance;

  • Lead the internal leave and disability team, as well as maintain overall responsibility for the relationship with Oracle’s third party leave and disability vendor;

  • Be responsible for overseeing and ensuring adherence to federal, state and local laws, including, but not limited to, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, DOL and IRS regulations;

  • Have extensive knowledge and experience working with California VDI plans;

  • Lead assessment and implementation of new programs, vendor RFPs and contract negotiations related to leaves of absence;

  • Regularly and strategically review processes and policies with a focus on compliance and continuous improvement;

  • Ensure that the overall management of the leave and disability plan aligns with business objectives, with a strong emphasis on enhancing the employee experience;

  • Collaborate with payroll on a variety of matters, including reconciliation issues and administration of the California VDI plan;

  • Have a thorough understanding of the interactive process and reasonable accommodations;

  • Engage with HR, Legal and management teams on complex leave and reasonable accommodation issues;

  • Manage and provide continuous professional development to Oracle leave and disability team;

  • Have excellent relationship building and collaboration skills necessary for leading and working with internal and external stakeholders;

  • Collaborate with consultants, vendors, and carriers as needed;

  • Demonstrate good judgment at all times with respect to data privacy and security and confidentially manage sensitive information; and

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Proficiencies:

  • Deep commitment to exceptional customer service;

  • Expert knowledge of employment/leave of absence/reasonable accommodation-related laws and practices;

  • Expert knowledge of leaves of absence administration;

  • Fundamental knowledge of benefit programs (including short-term and long-term disability);

  • Fundamental knowledge of general payroll concepts;

  • Experience with professional organizations such as DMEC, SVEF, CEB, BGH;

  • Ability to act with compassion when dealing with highly sensitive, complex situations;

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization including executive staff;

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, highly collaborative and evolving team;

  • Advanced knowledge of state leave laws (including paid leaves) and federal regulations related to leave and disability;

  • Expert knowledge of California VDI plans including administration and compliance; and

  • Prior experience in leave and disability claims processing preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Human Resources or other Business related field, industry certification (i.e. CEBS) a plus;

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in leave of absence administration (required);

  • Minimum 3 years of team management experience; and

  • Preferred minimum 5 years of progressive vendor management experience.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $87,000 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
