DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In the absence of the Senior Center Operator 1, the Alternate Senior Center Operator 1 is responsible for maintaining the inventory of nutrition supplies and all the nutrition records for the center. You will monitor the daily quality of bulk foods, which includes checking the temperature and portion sizes. This position also maintains the record of attendance and the volunteer hours for the center, schedules transportation for the center, encourages program clients to participate in our recreational and instructional activities, and processes any participant's request for a therapeutic diet. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Part-time employment This is an alternate position and will be called when needed. Work hours are 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, no lunch hour. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Luzerne or Wyoming counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Schuylkill, or Sullivan counties will be considered. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
