Job Title: Production Supervisor

Job Description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for adhering to all safety regulations and work rules, while ensuring that all production processes meet internal and external specifications. This role involves examining products at various stages, overseeing equipment for malfunctions, and directing workers to make necessary adjustments or repairs. The Production Supervisor also plays a key role in training employees, preventing incidents, and facilitating communication between managers, EHS resources, and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety regulations, work rules, and departmental requirements.

  • Record data manually or by computer as required.

  • Examine castings and products for conformance to specifications.

  • Observe machines and equipment for malfunctions and order repairs.

  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements.

  • Explain company policies to employees and ensure compliance with EHS responsibilities.

  • Conduct employee training and incident prevention techniques.

  • Assign duties and explain job orders to workers.

  • Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.

  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.

  • Suggest changes to increase efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew.

  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.

  • Initiate plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

  • Maintain time and production records.

  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.

  • Coordinate activities with other supervisors to ensure smooth operations.

  • Establish project plans and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Make recommendations for employee status changes (hiring, terminations, and promotions).

  • Resolve grievances and employee relations issues.

  • Complete performance evaluations and administer corrective actions.

  • Train and mentor team leaders for their development.

  • Ensure compliance with company attendance policies, including regular attendance and occasional overtime.

  • Maintain measurement/metrics for departmental performance.

Essential Skills

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • One year of manufacturing leadership experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with production supervision, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing.

  • Strong supervisory, management, and industrial skills.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes.

  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $97000.00/yr.
