What you will be doing

Are you a seasoned and passionate software engineer with a wealth of experience in cutting-edge technologies? BT's Enterprise Digital team is eagerly seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our ranks. In this role, you will be instrumental in building Web Apps, APIs, and Integration services with Distributed systems, utilizing your expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript with React and Node, and harnessing the power of Next.js for Server-Side Rendering (SSR) to deliver high-performance applications. Your contributions will directly impact our customers and the world, making this an incredible opportunity to showcase your talents in an innovative environment alongside some of the best engineers in the industry.

Responsibilities:

Utilize your in-depth Frontend and Backend expertise to develop robust applications with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node, making use of Next.js for SSR.

Create visually stunning user interfaces by translating brilliant designs into reality using CSS, SASS, HTML, and React with reusable frameworks.

Design and develop APIs, leveraging your experience in API creation, integration, and data exchange while following best practices and design patterns.

Champion DevSecOps practices, integrating security into the software development lifecycle to ensure the highest level of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our applications and services.

Collaborate closely with Product Owners (PO), Engineering Managers (EM), and cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes and foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork.

Ensure code quality by conducting comprehensive testing, including Unit, Integration, and A11y (e.g., Jest, React testing library, Cypress), and implement automated testing strategies to achieve continuous improvement.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Pulumi:

In addition to engineering responsibilities, you will play a vital role in building and managing our infrastructure using Pulumi, an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tool. Your expertise will be crucial in defining and deploying cloud resources, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security in our cloud-based environment.
