Position Summary As a Production Supervisor (Nights) in our Groveport, OH location you will lead a team of skilled and semi-skilled workers in various aspects of processing, maintenance, and warehousing functions for the STERIS Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST) plant.In this role you will be responsible for the selection, training, and work direction for your team, and employ key company processes to effectively achieve results. The Production Supervisor will positively influence employee engagement and maintain a positive work culture and employee relations environment. Night Shift:Hours are 8pm to 8 am Thursday to Saturday. Work every other Sunday. (Must arrive 15 minutes before the shift to hand off with the next supervisor). What You'll do as a Production Supervisor Developa shop floor culture focused on the achievement of the businesses' objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC), by continuously focusing on waste elimination and following standard work. Leaddaily SQDC board meetings, trainand developemployees to meet expectations, ensurethe working environment is safe through direct monitoring of behavior and equipment, incident response, mitigation and investigation as issues occur during the shift, and providing individual and group feedback on successes and opportunities to improve performance. Identifyopportunities for countermeasures and participate in facility lean committees. Supportthe company's Lean business system, through participation in Kaizen events, participation in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), One Team One Goal (OTOG) Customer Service training/ participation. Actas the first point of contact for mitigation and investigation of issues related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Driveemployee engagement by implementing and using Lean processes. Create an environment of positive employee relations by creating a safe and productive work environment, listening to and addressing employee concerns, enforcing company policy and constructively managing employee performance. Interviewand selectnew employees and assures the team has necessary skill and tools to completework; ensures that shifts are properly staffed and assigns daily work to achieve objectives and ensure smooth shift transitions. Assessskill level and performance and addressgaps ensuring employees are capable of meeting expectations. Collaborateacross functions with Quality, Human Resources, and Planning, and supportcustomer quality audits. Ensureappropriate performance levels and tracks KPI across a range of activities and standard process metrics. UpdateSQDC boards. The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed Required: Minimum High School Diploma or GED, required. Minimum of 3 years of internal STERIS experience in manufacturing, processing or warehouse environment, or a minimum of5 years of related operations experience, required. Ability to learn science of sterilization modalities for sterile processing of medical instruments. Understanding of the four basic functions of mathematics as it applies to a production environment. Effective communication skills and ability to conduct team meetings. Ability to effectively employ delegation, collaboration, conflict resolution skills in a team environment.
