Responsibilities

The Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Office Technician plays a key role in supporting projects by processing field-collected data, ensuring quality control, and assisting with project deliverables. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency in CAD, and the ability to collaborate with project teams to meet client requirements.

Reporting to the SUE Project Manager, the SUE Office Technician will assist in maintaining data accuracy, coordinating with field crews, and ensuring compliance with industry and SAM standards. Process subsurface utility data following company standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry principles. Coordinate with project managers to ensure client-specific requirements and project deadlines are met. Perform routine project tasks to support efficient operations. Assist with quality control (QC) of client-specific deliverables to ensure accuracy and adherence to SAM standards. Monitor field crew production and quality assurance, providing feedback as needed. Provide technical and administrative support to team members. Conduct initial quality checks on field deliverables to maintain project integrity. Perform other tasks as needed to support company strategic goals. Uphold the company's vision, mission, and core values related to employees, ethics, safety, integrity, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, GIS, Drafting, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 1-3+ years of CAD drafting experience in the subsurface utility engineering, utility mapping, utility coordination, or related fields. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar software for drafting. Understanding of subsurface utility engineering (SUE) principles. Familiarity with survey data, geospatial information, and field-collected utility data is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy and compliance. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with project managers and field teams. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
