Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Property Accountant in the real estate industry, based in the Denver area. This role involves supporting the accounting operations for multiple properties, working within a detail-oriented and dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accurate and timely accounting closure for various properties across different portfolios.

• Conduct general ledger accounting tasks within a multi-entity environment.

• Create, document, and post journal entries for cash transactions, prepaids and accruals, consolidation and elimination entries.

• Execute monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.

• Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations, supported by high-quality documentation.

• Prepare and review financial statements for individual properties and portfolios.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze large data sets and uncover financial insights, including variances to budgeted and previous period amounts.

• Assist in preparing recurring and ad hoc management reports.

• Provide support in response to internal and external audit requests.

• Uphold policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial statement accuracy.

• Perform property tax accruals and adjustments.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales & use tax filings.

• Navigate state, city and municipal government requirements to secure business licenses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting

• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in property accounting or as a staff accountant
