About our team:

We are an expanding our team of Regulatory Compliance professionals. Our team supports obtaining industry compliance for our lift trucks and our other warehouse logistics products. Activities include testing and evaluation of new designs, auditing existing designs, and being involved with industry standard updates globally.

About the position:

We’re looking for a Product Environmental Compliance Engineer to join our team. This position involves assessing product compliance, creating compliance plans, and drafting environmental attestations. In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure product compliance with environmental standards.
  • Utilize a proactive, systems engineering approach to problem solving.
  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing teams to assess product environmental compliance.
  • Serve as main point of contact for teams involved in environmental compliance and regulatory reporting for industrial warehouse products.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of data related to various regulations, such as Reach SVHC, Prop 65, Conflict Minerals, and PFAS compliance.
  • Track regulatory compliance. Understand and communicate potential impact to Raymond products.
  • Work closely with the Regulatory Compliance Manager, engineering, and sustainability teams to ensure environmental compliance is implemented through project lifecycles for Raymond products.
  • Respond to environment compliance inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Stay current with global and domestic environmental standards and regulations, collaborating with colleagues in U.S., Japan, and Europe.
  • Provide environmental guidance for new product development teams. Participate in design reviews for risk analyses and test plans.
  • Partner with cross-functional groups to support a Lead Engineer and/or Program Manager.
  • Interface with external suppliers and outside professional NRTLs to assure industry compliance.
  • Keep manager informed of progress, changes, priorities, issues, and project status.
  • Recommend changes in project direction in response to dynamic regulatory requirements.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support compliance activities. Typically, this is 3 trips per year.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering + 1 year of post-graduation engineering experience – OR - Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Strong organization, communication, research, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to present technical material to a technically diverse audience.

It would be great if you had:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental, Materials Science, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in Product Environmental Compliance.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations in the USA, with the ability to research and interpret regulations in other countries.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: EU RoHS, REACH, California Prop 65, EU ESPR, and upcoming regulations on PFAS.
  • Technical documentation experience such as BOM, schematics, and drawings.
  • Product data management PDM/PLM system experience.
  • Proficiency with applicable PC applications.

About the total compensation package:

Salary - $80,000 - $96,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

Relocation – This position may qualify for relocation.
