Position : Maintenance Technician

Wage: $32 - $38 per hour

Location : Gray Summit MO - Research Manufacturing Unit

Shift: 1st Shift 7a-3:30p Monday - Friday with Weekends as needed

Reports to : Plant Manager

Job Purpose: Maintain a variety of plant equipment including conveyors, pumps, process piping, mixers, and mills Troubleshoot mechanical and/or electrical issues Work with production to facilitate repairs as downtime allows Understand the process in the plant to help with process improvements

Purchasing of spare parts, tools, and process equipment

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment. Make necessary repairs and adjustments on machines and equipment during production to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency. Provide training to employees and assist them so they can do adjustments and perform routine maintenance tasks. Perform and have knowledge of metal fabrication as needed Monitors equipment status and participates in equipment overhauls Utilize various testing equipment to check electronic circuits. Analyzes equipment to improve efficiency, safety, and quality. Read and understand operating manuals. Ability to interpret, analyze, and write electrical and electronic mechanical diagrams or schematics. Maintain legible, neat and accurate records, documentation, reports, etc. Complete maintenance work orders as assigned. Follow-up on current status of equipment modifications, work orders and PM's. Upgrade skills as required due to improvements and/or changes in technology. Ensures good communication with plant operators and office staff Assist with new associate training. Other duties as assigned.

Safety and Physical Requirements: Actively participate in team safety efforts to achieve/exceed plant goals. Required to perform all duties safely and use discretion to prevent injuries to self and/or others. Able to lift 50 pounds frequently Must be able to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day)

Quality Responsibility: Ensure the quality of our products and our workplace by following all procedures and guidelines. Actively participates in continuous improvement efforts and compliance with established GMPs and operating procedures. Ensures compliance with all GMP guidelines.

General Competency Requirements: Actively participate in team goal setting/implementation to ensure that we are the low cost, high quality producer. Maintain legible, timely, and accurate records/paperwork as required. Meet with vendors and contractors as necessary to ensure continued efficient and maintenance of equipment. Able to work well within a team environment as well as work independently Planning/organizational skills Strong verbal communication skills. Strong troubleshooting and problem Solving skills Understanding of requirements and importance of documentation. Understanding and knowledge of electronics and mechanics Assist others when the need arises. Shares responsibility for department housekeeping and cleanliness with other maintenance team members. May be assigned to different areas and/or shift as production requires. Weekend and/or holiday work will be scheduled as needed. Able to demonstrate leadership skills and behavior which contribute to overall team effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must demonstrate leadership ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Safety leader and advocate of safe work procedures
  • Mechanical aptitude required
  • Industrial operations experience preferred.
  • Electrical and automation aptitude required
  • Understanding of electronic preventive maintenance programs

E ucation and Experience Requirements: The successful applicant should possess the following:

  • Self Starter with positive attitude
  • PLC experience and knowledge is strongly desired.
  • Welding experience is strongly desired
  • Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in any of the following areas:
  • Agriculture process
  • Milling / baking industry
  • Oil refining
  • Energy generation/ transmission
  • Metallurgy
  • Textiles
  • Food and Beverage
  • Industrial construction
  • Automation
