Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Duration: 1 year contract with possibility of extension.

Location: Grand Rapids Michigan 49508

Pay Rate: $38-$49/hr. + Benefits

Schedule : 1shift

(must be a USC/Green Card Holder/NO C2C)

Job Overview: We are seeking Manufacturing Engineers, ranging from Associate to Senior levels, to lead and provide ongoing support throughout our manufacturing life cycle. This role involves introducing new products, improving existing production procedures, and offering technical expertise in process technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Improvements: Independently evaluate manufacturing processes to ensure optimal labor and material costs. Identify areas for productivity and profitability improvements, track expenditures, and implement cost-effective solutions.

  • Floor Support: Provide timely product and process support to diagnose and resolve manufacturing issues, minimizing production interruptions.

  • Special Projects: Lead the implementation of significant product, process, or corporate change initiatives introduced into the plant.

  • Strategic/Manufacturing Planning: Conduct advanced research to introduce and integrate new processes, equipment, and technologies into the manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills: process, capacity, cost/benefit, waste stream, and quality tools.

  • Experience in lean manufacturing techniques, such as flow, PQ, equipment reliability, and setup reduction.

  • Facilitation and negotiation skills.

  • Knowledge of material handling and productivity improvement techniques (e.g., RCI’s).

  • Experience with the Engineering Design Process, including design, specification, purchase, and installation of new equipment.

  • Project management and leadership ability.

  • Familiarity with occupational biomechanics/human factors engineering and strategic planning.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent education.

  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel and Access.

  • Experience with simulation, process modeling, and value stream mapping.
