This role is our entry level accounting position responsible for recording, monitoring, and reconciling operational transactions. These transactions may include cash receipts, receivables, unit entries, and vendor or subconsultant payables. This role is intended to develop the right individual into a full time Project Accountant as they grow and learn what it takes for that next step. As an Assistant Project Accountant, you will be supporting the financial operations of the company, while getting exposure to the principles of project accounting. To be successful in this role, you should have a passion for working with numbers, providing outstanding customer service, and a high attention to detail.  You will embody our Core Principles - “understand our customers and satisfy their needs, do what we say we are going to do, and Have Fun!” The immediate roles and responsibilities include: * Process client payments and assist in reconciliation of outstanding receivables. * Manage intake and processing of vendor invoices and reconcile vendor statements. * Review daily bank activity and post transactions to general ledger software. * Post internal expense logs and complete unit entry for monthly project billing. * Assist with management of Certificates of Insurance from subconsultants and suppliers. * Set up vendors and subcontractors in system; ensure maintenance of current records. * Keep team informed of any problems or inadequacies noted in day-to-day business operations. * Complete ad-hoc reporting and reconciliation projects. * Assist with month-end client billing process and client collections. Education and Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration. * 1+ years of experience in professional office environment, accounting preferred Computer Skills: * High proficiency in Windows and Microsoft office applications is essential. * Experience with general ledger software strongly desired.
