Honeywell Electrical Engineer II in Golden Valley, Minnesota

As an Electrical Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining electrical power systems which include ICP (Industrial control panels), pumps and sensitive instrumentation. Other responsibilities may include developing lab and production power requirements to drive lab and production area layout and build. You would work closely with other power and control engineers and scientists for design requirements.

You will report directly to our Sr R&D Manager and you'll work out of our Golden Valley, MN location on a regular office (non-hybrid) work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop electrical power systems and components • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze technical requirements • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers

US CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering using high power components and power distribution, implementing proper grounding strategies, measurement of EM fields and shielding, Programable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware and software

  • 2+ years of experience utilizing measurement devices such as oscilloscopes and power meters

  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g. schematic capture)

WE VALUE

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • Design of Motor control and motor protection power circuits including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

  • Strong working knowledge of the NEC (National Electric Code) and UL508A (Standard for safety – Industrial Control Panels)

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
