GENERAL SUMMARY

GAHHS security guards are tasked with ensuring the safety for patients, visitors, and employees while on the GAHHS campus. Security Guards are also responsible for carrying out loss prevention tactics as well as proactive approaches of ensuring a campus free of criminal incidents.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Greets and interacts with patients and other guests in a cordial manner.\ 2. Answers telephone courteously and in a friendly manner. Personal phone calls are kept to a minimum.\ 3. Excellent customer service skills.\ 4. Communicates with other members of department.\ 5. Good written communication skills.\ 6. Good verbal communication skills.\ 7. Promotes teamwork.\ 8. Exhibits flexibility in response to changing work situations.\ 9. Maintains rapport with physicians and/or employees in other departments.\ 10. Notifies appropriate person (i.e. manager, supervisor, risk manager, house supervisor) of problems, equipment/product defects, and important information encountered in dealing with physicians, patients, visitors, or other department personnel.\ 11. Assumes responsibility for own continuing education.\ 12. Participates in the established Patient Safety Program.\ 13. Assists with training new employees.\ 14. Commitment to the mission and vision of GAHHS as well as individual department objectives as demonstrated by the employees actions.\ 15. Neat personal appearance.\ 16. Exhibits professionalism in the workplace.\ 17. Reports to work on time. Returns from meals within the appropriate time frame.\ 18. Able to display good judgment and decision making.

Proficient in moderate computer skills with ability to complete incident reports.
