Role Summary
Splunk is seeking a highly motivated, process-oriented individual to join our dynamic sales engineering team! You will be working together with Splunk’s direct sales team on the technical aspects of selling Splunk’s Observability solutions within our Commercial business sector.

What you'll get to do
Represent, own and specialize in observability practices and use cases at Splunk
Discovery Demonstration, proof of values and enablement of Splunk products and services with customers
You’re an excellent communicator, an outstanding storyteller, and you love the craft of documentation. Your communication skills shine across platforms, whether proposals, articles, emails, presentations, webinars, or in person.
Organized and analytical, you will be able to eliminate sales obstacles using technical capabilities or creative and adaptive approaches.
Important: We can teach you the technology, guide you on soft skills and educate you on processes. You should have a strong sense of self- motivation, and curiosity as well as a good grasp of how to convey "the art of the possible" with technology.
Must-have Qualifications
4+ years working in a professional environment.
A proven track record in technical sales (or similar customer facing technical role)
Knowledge of Virtualization, Containerization, Kubernetes or Serverless environments.
Familiarity with the tools of the trade: Splunk, Splunk Observability, AppDynamics, Opentelemetry, etc
Capable on Unix or Windows and familiar with administrative practices
Experience in, or knowledge of IT operations, Software Development or DevOps.
Familiarity with working from a command line, scripting and programming languages.
Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure will help you excel.
Experience writing and executing one or more of: Python, Ruby, NodeJS, .NET, PHP, Java or Go
Must be US Citizen or have work authorization, we are unable to provide immigration sponsorship for this role

Note:
OTE Pay Ranges
For sales roles the ranges are expressed as On Target Earning or OTE (OTE = base + incentives in the form of sales incentive plans).
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
On Target Earnings: $164,000.00 - 225,500.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), New York (excludes NYC Metro Area), and all other states.
On Target Earnings: $156,000.00 - 214,500.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
