Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Weekends

Job Description

Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment. Maintain assigned equipment and provide training to peers as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production areas to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment.

  • Review work orders to ensure accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed.

  • Adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

  • Assist with the installation of new equipment or modify existing equipment as required.

  • Provide training to peers as requested or needed by the maintenance tech lead.

  • Make suggestions for corrective measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects.

  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and give feedback to the supervisor, including cost reduction, quality improvement, and yield control.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Perform backup duties for other staff as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical procedures.

  • Knowledge of basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and calculating percentages.

  • Skill in using power tools.

  • Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with both internal and external customers.

  • Ability to operate a forklift and scissors lift.

  • Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits.

  • Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call and weekends.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Welding ability is highly preferred.

Work Environment

Work in a high-tech, very clean chicken processing facility with lots of conveyors and automation. Some areas are climate-controlled and chilly. Work around euthanized chickens. The weekend shift includes Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 6 am to 6:30 pm, and Monday from 6 am to 2:30 pm.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fremont, Nebraska.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
