We’re looking for college design students and recent graduates who specialize in industrial design, footwear design, 3D design (DPC – Digital Product Creation) innovation, technology and sustainability who are ready for adventure in their professional life and the outdoors, who thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to have a role in bringing our brand to life.

As a participant in our Design Apprenticeship Program, you will be fully immersed in the business and culture of L.L.Bean, including what it means to Be an Outsider. Over an agreed upon and limited time period (minimum engagement is 12 weeks max is 16 weeks) you will produce meaningful work that directly impacts our company, build relationships with senior leaders, be mentored by design experts, and be exposed to every corner of our business, and so much more.

This is a paid position at an hourly rate that typically takes place during key periods throughout the year.

As a Design Apprentice with L.L.Bean, you will be given specific projects to complete throughout your time in the department, and the results of your projects will have a direct impact on our company.

Qualifications:

Must be currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college/university degree program or recent graduates.Strong preference will be given to rising Juniors and Seniors as well as Seniors who have graduated recentlyPassion for the outdoors and L.L.Bean’s core activities Have proven leadership skills, with the ability to develop and motivate others Capability to build strong partnerships and to work collaboratively to achieve goals Demonstrated curiosity, problem solving and critical thinking skills Ability to maintain a high level of enthusiasm, motivation, and a positive attitude Established time management and organization skills Demonstrated interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ideally has long-term interest in the outdoor apparel and gear industry
