Job Title: Level B Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Level B Maintenance Technician to maintain and service garbage trucks operating throughout the Central Kentucky area. The role involves performing a variety of service tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, and mechanical repairs of garbage truck equipment. Additionally, the technician will complete work orders and schedule preventive maintenance (PM) for the trucks to ensure their continued operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake repairs on garbage trucks.

• Conduct mechanical repairs on garbage truck equipment.

• Complete and manage work orders for maintenance tasks.

• Schedule and conduct preventive maintenance (PM) for garbage trucks.

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in garbage trucks.

Essential Skills

• 2-5 years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment maintenance.

• Technical college degree or diesel mechanic certification (preferred).

• Strong mechanical skills, including auto repair.

• Willingness to learn and work with garbage trucks.

• Experience in electrical troubleshooting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Hydraulics knowledge.

• Ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes dirty environment.

Work Environment

The work environment is a well-organized 5S facility. While the bays are clean, the nature of the job involves working with garbage trucks, which can be smelly and dirty. The positions are located in Lexington.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
