Actalent Engineering Technician in Frankfort, Kentucky
Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description
Seeking Civil Quality Assurance (CQA) Technicians who will travel to various landfills to document daily activities and verify the accuracy of the general contractors' work. The role involves preparing daily reports and attending meetings.
Responsibilities
Monitor and document construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities, including field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners.
Ensure overall compliance with project specifications and construction drawings.
Communicate effectively and maintain good organizational skills.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Apply knowledge of soils laboratory coursework and demonstrate interest/experience in construction.
Travel extensively with expenses covered for out-of-town assignments.
Work 6-7 days per week with anticipated overtime during construction season.

Familiarity with construction specifications
Ability to write detailed daily/weekly reports
Attention to detail
Willingness to travel and be away from home for extended periods
Strong communication skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Nuclear Gauge/density certification
Landfill construction experience
Associate degree
ACI Certification
Work Environment
This position requires working outdoors at various landfill locations, enduring elements such as extreme heat in the summer and cold in the winter. Candidates will work 8-10 hour days, predominantly on their feet. Travel is generally within Kentucky and bordering states, and sites are usually regional.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
