Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Vet Candidates - Sci, Tech, Engr and Math, Incl Technicians (STRLs) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position serves as the Capability Developments Integration Specialist in the Operations Division in Fort Sam Houston, TX. Responsibilities This position plans and carries out difficult and complex assignments responsible for current operations (CUOPS), future operations (FUOPS), and contingency planning. Assignments include interpreting policies, standards, and requirements and modifying and adapting existing methods and approaches, implementing recommendations independently or as a team member. Provides advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex operations and plans issues, evaluating and recommending new or enhanced approaches to delivering tasking assignments, plans and programs. Specialized Experience: To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Knowledge in the ten Medical Functions to include Medical Command and Control, Treatment, Hospitalization, Medical Evacuation, Dental Services, Operational Public Health, Combat and Operational Stress Control, Veterinary Services, Medical Logistics, Medical Laboratory Services; (2) Knowledge in managing, coordinating, and providing oversight on Current Ops (CUOPS) and Future Ops (FUOPS) battle rhythm and mission requirements; (3) Knowledge in preparing, writing, submitting recurring and one-of-a-kind operation reports; AND (4) Knowledge in mission analysis and preparing briefings for senior leaders and stakeholders regarding capability development solutions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DB-02 (GS-11 equivalent).
