Facilitates the movement of materials used in the production/storage of goods destined for assembly and sale to our customer base through clerical and physical tasks associated with receiving incoming shipments, putting parts away, delivering materials to production, and upkeep of the warehouse and material storage areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Take all required actions to follow all written and visual work instructions in the performance of duties.
Process and handle inbound materials and supplies
Count and verify inbound shipments
Label & mark with date and initials each pallet, box, container, or package all inbound receiving
Process and handle all material movement to store inventory after receiving material.
Put parts away in assigned locations
Process and handle all material movement to and from the production floor as required to meet time delivery to production operators.
Manage location size in the warehouse
Update part locations in ERP system
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping purposes, and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
Operate forklift or other material handling equipment to position outbound shipments or incoming materials.
Routinely lift and move packages and shipments in staging for shipment or delivery inbound materials to respective department
Accesses computer daily for email, internet information and use documents to create entries and maintain an electronic log of incoming and outgoing package
Maintain overflow lists
And other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or its equivalent required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years’ experience with Material Handling and warehouse function
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Experience with ERP systems preferred
Must work well in a team environment supporting other departments
Interact with Purchasing, Finance (A/P), Shipping, Quality & Production daily
Able to work well in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators
Ensure company policies and safety policies are followed
Work shift will require early morning start and/or overtime as required. This requirement will vary depending on business requirements. Flexibility is required.
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must lift and/or move up to 35 pounds alone, 80 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
