Amentum Systems Engineer III in Fort Meade, Maryland

Join our ICON team responsible for maintaining the operational status of the National Security Innovation Network. You will be assisting to accelerate early stage technologies, support technology transfer and solve unique Government problems. ICON team members act as partners with the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community and other Government agencies to serve in the defense of National Security. operations.

The Systems Engineer III focuses on DoD 5000.02 artifacts and documentation to perform requirements analysis, including decomposition of high-level requirements into artifacts assignable during Agile program increments and sprints. They are responsible for applying systems engineering principles throughout the systems lifecycle phases: concept, development, production, utilization, support, and retirement. They interact with ICON project teams regarding systems engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts. They communicate with other Technical Direction Plan (TDL) project personnel, Government stakeholders, and senior executives. They are responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288, to include: Technical Process Area, Enterprise Process Area, and Agreement Process Area. They contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation, such as Systems Engineering Plans, initial capability documents, requirements specifications, and interface control documents. The Systems Engineer III is a senior role with extensive experience ensuring regulatory and requirements compliance of IT systems. The Systems Engineer III supervise and mentor subordinate project and ICON Innovation Collaborative (IIC) staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems lifecycle phases: concept, development, production, utilization, support, and retirement.

  • They interact with ICON project teams regarding systems engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts

  • Communicate with other Technical Direction Plan (TDL) project personnel, Government stakeholders, and senior executives.

  • Responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288, to include: Technical Process Area, Enterprise Process Area, and Agreement Process Area.

  • Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation, such as Systems Engineering Plans, initial capability documents, requirements specifications, and interface control documents.

  • Advanced administrative and personnel management, ensuring the ability to prioritize work tasks in accordance with internal processes and procedures

  • Provide supervision and mentorship to subordinate project and Team ManTech staff members

  • Work closely with cross function teams such as product managers and developers.

  • Provide Technical representation at meetings and consultations with clients or their representatives.

  • Manages customer expectations as the on-site company representative.

  • Maintain strong attention to detail.

  • Maintain a positive attitude and work as a member of a cohesive team as well as independently.

  • Interact with all levels of the organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful way.

  • Multi-task efficiently and work in a fast pace environment on multiple projects.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams in a cross-functional environment

  • Demonstrated experience with Cameo Systems Modeler

  • Demonstrated experience with SysML tools

  • Demonstrated experience with digital Knowledge Management and Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., MS SharePoint, Inventory Control, Order Management, and others) as a power user.

  • A self-starter, willing to work independently and take complete ownership of complex problems.

  • Demonstrated ability in interfacing with users, consultants, technical teams, and vendors.

Clearance Required:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with poly

Minimum Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in an IT related field

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • At least 5 years demonstrated experience developing, researching, designing, implement, testing, and evaluating software and systems.

Required Certifications:

  • IAT Level II Certification within 6 months of hire

Preferred:

  • DoD 8570 Fully Compliant with formal Computing Environment certification (i.e. CCNA, CCNP, VCP-CTA, VCP-DCV, VCP-NX, Microsoft, Linux, ect.)

  • Demonstrated skills and expertise in the following technologies: SQL/XSQL Server Administrator (SA), Microsoft O/S and security, Information Assurance (IA), IP Data Networking and Vulnerability Assessment product engineering and design, IP network vulnerability scanner Tier 3 support, REM 3.X / Retina 5.X and greater, ACAS Security Center 4.X / Nessus 5.X or greater and HP Tenable Nessus products

  • Currently active process improvement certification (e.g., Certified CMMI Associate, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above, PMI PMP, ITIL, etc.)

The base salary range for this position is $173k to $186k. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
