Description of Work Unit
At CSU Pueblo, the Information Technology team is a crucial part of the Colorado State University System, which encompasses CSU Fort Collins, CSU Pueblo, and CSU Spur. By working closely with university stakeholders and collaborating with IT teams across the CSU System, the Information Technology team located in Pueblo contributes to the system’s goals of innovation and excellence, fostering a dynamic and effective IT environment on campus.
Areas of responsibility include Application Development and User Support Services, Academic Technology, Cybersecurity & Privacy, Networking and Telecommunications, Infrastructure and Databases, Business Intelligence and Data Integrations, Administrative Applications, and Student Applications.

Position Summary
The LMS Administrator I is responsible for the management, maintenance, and support of the organization’s Learning Management System ( LMS ). This role ensures that the LMS aligns with the academic and operational needs of faculty, students, and staff while providing responsive and effective support. Key responsibilities include configuring the LMS , managing user access, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with instructional designers, faculty, IT staff, and other stakeholders to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
Required Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in educational technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Candidates with a High School Diploma (or GED ) and equivalent (4 years) related professional experience will be considered for employment (without the required bachelor’s education).
Minimum of 1 year experience in technical support, help desk, or customer service role demonstrating:
Tracking and resolving user-reported technical issues
Using ticket management systems
Following established support procedures and escalation protocols
Documenting troubleshooting steps and solutions
Basic understanding of learning management systems (Canvas preferred)
Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
Preferred Job Qualifications
Knowledge of accessibility standards
Knowledge of compliance standards such as FERPA and best practices for managing educational data securely
Experience with configuring, managing, and supporting LTIs (Learning Tools Interoperability) and API integrations within an LMS .
Ability to work independently and make decisions within a defined protocol
Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills

Monitor system performance and optimize the LMS to ensure high availability and reliability.
Defines and develops roles within the learning management system ( LMS ) and related technologies to ensure proper rights, access, and security for staff, students, and faculty.
Manages and integrates learning-related, third-party software, plugins, LTI tools into enterprise applications.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration between the LMS and other enterprise systems (e.g., SIS , authentication services, and library systems).
Creates, maintains and executes a schedule of LMS configuration changes, validation and maintenance tasks to ensure seamless delivery of courses and programs.
Participates in the evaluation of other instructional technology tools to supplement the current environment.

Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and escalated technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
Actively investigate and resolve system emergencies, escalating to vendors as needed, and communicating with stakeholders on resolutions or upgrades.
Develops and maintains up-to-date documentation including help resources, FAQ’s, knowledgebase articles for the LMS portfolio
Communicates effectively with faculty and staff from diverse professional and academic disciplines with varying degrees of technical knowledge/aptitude.
