This posting is for an entry level Engineering Technician I position located in the Winston-Salem Construction 2 Resident Engineer Office. This position will assist engineers and higher-level technicians in the implementation and administration of roadway and structure construction projects awarded to private contractors. Responsibilities of this position will include assisting on projects categorized from minor to complex, providing inspection throughout every phase of a construction project to ensure it is built according to plans and specifications in a timely and cost-effective manner, and conducting routine inspections for compliance with contract agreements, standard, codes, permits, and specifications. Daily duties will also include performing calculations, computation, and computer/iPad data entry. POS# 60021054 and POS# 60021042.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or assigned discipline from an appropriately accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
