Responsibilities
The incumbent demonstrates competency in physical therapy for pediatric adult and/or geriatric patients. The incumbent provides patient assessments develops and implements individual patient treatment programs provides therapeutic interventions utilizing current and effective methodologies and maintains effective documentation.
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations: This includes reviewing medical history, performing physical examinations (assessing strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, sensation, etc.), and using standardized tests and measures.
Develop individualized treatment plans: Based on the evaluation, create specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals and interventions to address the patient's impairments and functional limitations.
Implement treatment plans: Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, gait training, balance training, functional mobility training (bed mobility, transfers, ambulation), and pain management strategies.
Monitor patient progress: Regularly assess the patient's response to treatment, modify the plan as needed, and document progress accurately and thoroughly in the medical record.
Educate patients and families: Provide clear and concise instructions on exercises, activity modifications, and strategies for self-management to promote independence and carryover of skills.
Qualifications
Minimum Required
Previous experience as a Physical Therapist.
Physical Therapy License, valid in CA
BLS from American Heart Association
Pay Range
$42.69 - $61.91 /hour
