Position Summary
Position Summary: The Lead Environment Services Worker is part of the surgical team and assists in providing efficient, quality care to all patients in the perioperative environment. Performs a variety of environmental cleaning tasks to maintain patient care areas, including OR rooms, holding area, hallways, center core, sub sterile rooms, offices, locker rooms, kitchen and call room. Employees are responsible for the safe use of mechanical floor cleaners, vacuums and ladders. Responsibilities include assembly of various tables and surgical positioning equipment and devices, moving furniture, surgical equipment and other heavy equipment as needed. The role includes daily preparation of OR rooms for new patients and terminal cleaning of each operating room. As well as ATP testing as indicated.
Primary Position Responsibilities
Re-establish a clean environment after patient transfer from room in accordance with AORN established cleaning recommendations.
Surgical Environmental Specialists will implement cleaning procedures to reduce dust and potential contamination during internal or external construction, repair, and renovation projects.
Provide support to the perioperative team by assisting with the transport of patients as needed. Properly identifies patients prior to transport. Maintains patient safety, comfort and privacy during transports.
Supervise employees in assigned areas.
Seeks administrative direction and coordinates and collaborates with leadership when needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
